When the cold comes knocking, keep it at bay with our Women’s Extreme Warmth Base Layer Bottoms. Made with our high-performing AlpacaTek Technology®, these leggings are sure to be the warmest base layer in your closet with unparalleled warmth and no excessive bulk. They’re made with our patented Alpaca Dry Fusion Technology® for ultimate moisture-wicking abilities (85% better than Merino wool) and antimicrobial properties. Hollow-fibered alpaca fleece maintains high-level thermal capabilities, while a multi-flex knit provides ultimate comfort and range of motion thanks to twelve stretch panels in the upper glutes, thighs, knees, calves, and ankles. Additionally, tapered ankles prevent material from bunching up, even when paired with a heavy sock. Try these on and discover why alpacas—and now you—can survive in some of the harshest conditions in North America. Wear them to hunting camp, on a hut-skiing trip, or downhill skiing to keep you warm all day and all night.

Why Choose Alpaca Fiber?

Discover the premium qualities that make alpaca the ultimate luxury fiber

Alpaca fiber has unique thermal properties that naturally adapt to your body temperature. The hollow fiber structure creates insulating air pockets that keep you warm when it's cold, while the breathable nature allows heat to escape when it's warm.

Unlike synthetic materials that trap moisture and heat, alpaca fiber wicks away perspiration while maintaining optimal comfort throughout the day.

Alpaca fiber is naturally lanolin-free, making it ideal for people with wool allergies or sensitive skin. The smooth fiber surface reduces irritation and itching that can occur with traditional wool.

The natural antimicrobial properties help resist odors and bacteria, keeping your garments fresh longer while being gentle on even the most delicate skin.

Alpacas have a minimal environmental footprint compared to other fiber-producing animals. They graze gently without damaging root systems, require less water, and produce more fiber per animal than sheep.

Our alpaca products represent a sustainable choice that supports traditional farming communities while providing you with a renewable, biodegradable luxury fiber that lasts for decades.

Alpaca fiber is renowned for its incredible softness and lustrous appearance. The fine diameter of the fibers creates a silky-smooth texture that rivals cashmere, while being significantly more durable.

Unlike other luxury fibers that may pill or lose their shape, alpaca garments maintain their beauty and softness for years, making them a worthwhile investment in your wardrobe.

Must Haves

Preparing for a trip to Canada and had to have these. I've not worn them yet, but trying them on I know they will keep this south Louisiana girl warm during my trip. For reference I bought the small and I'm 63 yo, 5'2", 115 lbs. The fit was perfect, waistband not tight as another mentioned. Heavy weight thickness but doesn't feel like it when they're on as they are so soft and cushiony.
Living this far south, I don't expect to wear them much, but I'm ready!! It snowed this year and we had 7", 6 degree low, however they didn't come until a few days after our "Snowdeo". Not their fault as EVERYTHING shut down for days because of the record breaking snow.
Love me some AOM!

Best ever! They keep me warm!

They are comfortable and they actually keep me warm! I got a size up to be sure and it's roomy but that's fine. When I'm working long hours in brutally cold weather I can count on them to do the trick. Nothing else had worked like that so far.

Very High Quality/Fabric Prickly Against Skin

Loved the instant warmth of these base layer bottoms, high quality & that fabric is from sustainable alpaca. But the fabric is too prickly against my skin. Due to high waist band, I would size up from M to a L for a 60+ body. Sadly I am returning this item.

Perfect fit but itchy

I absolutely love the fit of this base layer it doesn't pull on you when your are wearing it and it doesn't aggravate my sciatica like may other base layers. However, I find the alpaca fiber used in this garment is itchy and pokey. I was hoping this garment would be similar to the quality of the base layer tops but it isn't and I'm sadly disappointed

Joggers

I love these joggers so much. They are so warm and they really keep me dry when I wear them under my snow pants.
