I am between a small and medium, but ordered a small after reading other reviews. The small is perfect and sleeve length is just right, a medium would have been too big. The head opening is wide enough for me to get it on and off easily, and the hoody is really soft and comfortable, even against bare skin when I wear it over a short sleeve t shirt. I can’t speak to warmth since it is still summer, but I love my socks from your store so I imagine this will be wonderfully warm and cozy too. I bought the green and it is a lovely color. So far I am very happy with the hoody!
My Mom couldn’t have been happier with the looks and feel of the hoodie and the fact that’s it’s 100% baby Alpaca made all the difference when selecting which one to choose.
I received the hoodie just in time for an arctic cold front to hit Colorado. The hoodie is a great mid layer for warmth on single digit days. It's soft and comfortable to wear (not scratchy at all). I love it! I have very sensitive skin (also allergic to wool), so I'm grateful to find 100% alpaca products. I'm 5'5"/125lbs, usually in between x-small and small, I tried both sizes. x-small fits over thin base layer, small is a bit big over thin base layer. I opted for small in case I want extra room for a thicker base layer. Recommendation for future version - add a front hand pocket. I'd gladly buy it as a second to rotate use with this one.
Women's Classic Alpaca Hoodie
I bought 4 of these hoodies for Christmas 2 women's in colors green and beige (size Small) and 2 mens in black and green (size Large). The mens sizing is perfect the women's runs large by one size. I was a small in Appalachian Gear Company hoodies and a small in everything else I buy- shirts, dresses, ect. A small in this hoodie is pretty big on me (I'm 5'6'' and 120lbs) The baby alpaca is softer than Appalachian Gear Company but it has a more delicate feel and a lot less tightly women stitches in some areas vs other (see pics). Some of the fibers are already snagged on both hoodies and there are a couple places that look like they could become a hole over time so I can't speak for the durability yet as I just got them and tried them on only once. Im pretty annoyed about the sizing for women's and debating going through the hassle to exchange them as our order was quite expensive buying 4 hoodies (over $700) I want to be happy with the purchase. I'm giving 4 stars for now because of the 1) poor info on sizing and lack of model stats on website to help customers, 2) contradictory info on the composition of the hoodie for the website vs on item tag as far as what the item is made of (the website says: 50% Baby Alpaca, 35% Wool, 15% Donegal Wool VS the item tag says 100% baby alpaca).....Thats a pretty big discrepancy for something so expensive and kinda rubs me the wrong way as a customer that there is contradicting info in what the hoodie is made of. When I bought the hoodies there were not even photos available at the time of a female wearing the hoodies (now there are) and they still do not tell you on the website in the description what size the model is wearing and her basic height and weight. This would be helpful since the sizes run large for women and would prevent returns/exchanges. I might have to exchange for smaller sizes. 3) the head hole on the hoodie is a bit small when taking off and putting on and it does not give/stretch at all (kinda strange). The hoodie is VERY comfortable on but just something to note. I couldn't put the hoodie on with my glasses on because it wouldn't stretch over my glasses. The colors are really pretty- awesome job there. Please add more information on sizing and model stats on the website and please tell the customer what exactly the hoodies are made of as the tag on the actual item and website info do not match. Overall happy with the purchase but I wouldn't buy anymore until I see how these hold up durability wise; thank you. If If I am able to update my review in a year or so I will to discuss durability.
