Bought this to have in my pack for a planned late season elk hunt next year. Finally had an opportunity to test drive it during a New England winter nor'easter with winds +40 and temps at 19 F. Overall performance was quite good in those conditions. Wind leaks in a bit around the back & ear flaps but nothing so bad that I would consider the hat non viable for late fall mountain conditions.

I need my hat to be comfortable, and convertible visor and earflaps of this hat make it super comfortable. It is amazing that in this hat I feel warm but not hot! The feeling of alpaca on my skin is as soft as my Great Pyrenes hair! Lovely, lovely hat!
Used the hat while pheasant hunting in South Dakota. Winds were gusting 30 mph temps were around 35F. Hat definitely kept my head warm, my only complaint would be that I couldn't adjust the ear flaps for a tighter fit. But overall great warm hat.
Works great, bill could be a tiny bit stiffer, but it’s not an issue 97.8 percent of the time.
