Beisdes being the normally wonderful soft of Alpaca, the hat is also longer than normal beanies which allows it to come down futher on my head. That means greater warmth! Win for me. I got the muti-colored one. Love it!
I love this hat, very soft and comfortable and not too tight. My cat loves the purple pompom and I like the snap on design which i discovered after my cat ripped it from the hat. No worries it snapped right back on!
Such a huge disappointment. Very thin, very loosely fitting. Can't see how it would keep my head warm at all. I bought it because I needed a few more dollars in the order to get free shipping, and my husband's Artic socks are fantastic! But this beanie is worthless.

So, it does not need to be thick to be warm. However, you are welcome to return the hat for a refund.
